Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow is a large contemporary textile wall piece with extreme hand spun yarn draped in front of a cream colored tapestry fabric. At the bottom is a textured gather and the same fabric is used at the top for structure. Branching shapes are wrapped in bulky knit material adding depth and variety to the hanging yarns. These yarns fashioned with traditional and novel approaches in technique and materials, contain recycled wool clothing, raw fleece and commercial fibers. There is an Asian style mounting rod included, but this can be changed. It can hang on a rod through the top pocket or velcro can be added for mounting. The background fabric measures 51” x 36”, the fringe extends a maximum of 17” below the fabric. This can be adjusted if shorter fringe is required.
