The history of a pot is recorded in its maker and it’s making. Each piece of Paul’s ceramics has unique and subtle qualities depending on a variety of conditions during the throwing, glazing, and firing of the pot. Some of the qualities like the form, unique glaze patterns, and impressed surfaces are determined by the skill and touch of the potter. Other characteristics during firing like textures from ash and rich color variations are totally unpredictable. These include a component of pure chance involved in harnessing the elements of earth, water, fire and air.
